The University of Utah Department of Pediatrics has a remarkable history of excellence in pediatric care and a shared commitment to collaboration. University of Utah Pediatric faculty are leaders in clinical care and innovation, and pioneer breakthroughs that improve pediatric diseases' understanding and treatment, and advance medical education. The camaraderie amongst our faculty is what sets us apart. In the spirit of celebrating faculty contributions, we look to honor Dr. Edward B. Clark for his extraordinary impact on our Department, the University of Utah Health System, and our community.
The foundation to achieve excellence in pediatric care was established over many years, under the leadership and guidance of Dr. Clark. Dr. Clark has played a formative role in the legacy of excellence within the Department of Pediatrics. For more than 20 years, he served as the Department Chair, Chief Medical Officer for Primary Children's Hospital, and most importantly, mentor to countless physicians, researchers, and students. Dr. Clark recently served as the Associate Vice President for Clinical Affairs, President of the University of Utah Medical Group at University of Utah Health and he has now returned home to the Department of Pediatrics to serve as Professor. His legacy has transformed patient care, research, and teaching the next generation of medical students to become physician leaders.
To honor Dr. Clark’s contributions to not only the Department of Pediatrics but also all of University of Utah Health, we are excited to announce the Dr. Edward B. Clark Endowed Lectureship in Health Systems Sciences. A recognized engineer of healthcare systems, this lectureship will honor Dr. Clark's commitment to care process models and systems intended to ensure patients receive multidisciplinary integrated care. This lectureship is a natural extension of Dr. Clark's belief that we can create high-value, equitable health systems through collaboration. An annual lectureship will bring experts from across the healthcare community, locally and nationally, to share best practices in health systems that deliver safe, high-value, equitable care, and embody comprehensive health.
Join us in celebrating an exceptional faculty member with a gift to the Dr. Edward B. Clark Endowed Lectureship. Throughout his tenure, Dr. Clark has given generously with his time and wisdom. He has sought to empower others through mentorship, collaboration, and leadership. Please consider the lasting impact you can make with a gift to endow a lectureship in perpetuity. Your donation will join that of others to reach our goal of $100,000 to establish an endowed lectureship at the University of Utah. Should we be unable to meet the required endowment threshold, using the funds collected, we will hold a memorial lectureship commemorating Dr. Clark’s contribution to University of Utah Health. By supporting this endeavor, your generosity helps to preserve Dr. Clark's passion for innovation and continuous improvement in the care that we provide – ensuring his vision and wisdom will be shared and built upon for generations to come. Please join us in supporting this effort.
