For infants born prematurely, infants with neurological problems, and for expectant parents with concerns of neurological issues or brain development concerns, the University of Utah Department of Pediatrics has a neonatal neurology program, headed by Dr. Betsy Ostrander.
Dr. Ostrander provides evaluation in the Fetal and Neonatal Neurology Outpatient Clinic for children with newborn brain injury, at-risk infants, as well as for families concerned their unborn child may have a neurological disease.
Clinical trials and research studies are also coordinated through this program, in conjunction with several physician-scientists (Drs. Bonkowsky, Ostrander, and Zielinski).
