How can candidates apply?

  • We accept applications through the ERAS program.

Do you participate in the match?

  • We participate in the  NRMP match process for Endocrinology Fellowship and all fellows are selected through this process.

Do you sponsor visas?

  • We accept J1 visa applicants and sponsor J1visas. We are unable to sponsor H1B visas.

Is your fellowship funded?

  • Our fellowship is fully funded for all three years for all our fellows.

Do you accept international  medical graduates.

  • Yes. However, all candidates must complete an ACGME approved Pediatric residency prior to the start of the fellowship.

Do you offer in-person interviews?

  • Please note that our fellowship interviews are currently conducted virtually for the application season.

 What is the program structure like?

  • Our fellowship program is a 3-year fellowship 
  • 1st year is primarily clinical: Inpatient Endocrine Service is 18 weeks in the first year. The 2nd and 3rd year are focused on either clinical or basic science or translational research project. Inpatient Endocrine Service is 10-12 weeks per year in the second and third years
  • The fellows have several electives including  adult endocrinology, lipid clinic, Reproductive endocrinology, Gynecology and ARUP laboratory. Additional electives can be arranged based on the fellows' interests.
  • The fellows have continuity clinics of two half days per week  throughout fellowship except during inpatient service weeks

What does call schedule look like?

  • Call is split between the attending and fellow on service
  • Fellows take overnight call on Tuesdays and Thursdays when on service which is 2 weeks per month in their first year and one week per month in second and third years
  • Attendings take overnight  call on  Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays
  • Fellows are on call on only one weekend per month during all three years
  • Holiday Call is Split between attending and fellows: One major and two minor holidays per year per fellow
  • Fellow is always supported by attending

Do fellows have an opportunity to teach?

  • Our fellows are actively involved in teaching residents, medical students and rotators while on the hospital service and giving scheduled lectures to the pediatric residents and medical students.

What research opportunities are available to the fellows?

  • Our fellows have the opportunity to be  involved in several clinical research or quality improvement projects, basic science or translational research projects  within or outside the division.  Our fellows have been successful in obtaining grants for their research projects. The program also offers the opportunity for fellows who are interested to enroll in the Masters in clinical investigation program which provides classroom and mentored research experience in clinical research, preparing its trainees for careers in clinical investigation, both in academic medicine and the allied health sciences. Do fellows participate in conferences and didactics?

  • Fellows have protected time on Monday mornings for division meetings and didactics and conferences
  • Weekly Board Reviews directed to board content specifications
  • Monthly Journal club
  • Monthly Case Conference

Joint adult endocrine and urology conferences and weekly adult endocrine grand rounds

  • Fellows school with fellows from other programs
  • Each fellow receives funds to attend a national endocrine meeting yearly

What is your program's board pass rate?

  • We have had 100% board pass rate for all the years. This speaks to the strength of our educational curriculum, medical training and high quality fellows in our program.
