Adolescent Medicine

The division of Adolescent Medicine treats adolescents and young adults, 8 – 25 years of age, with a variety of adolescent health problems. The team has research interests in obesity and heart disease risk factors, menstrual management, transgender healthcare, and eating disorders.

Cardiology

 

Physicians and scientists in the Division of Pediatric Cardiology at the University of Utah, in cooperation with Primary Children's Hospital, work to improve cardiac treatments through all types of research, including clinical trials.

 

Clinical Pharmacology

The Division of Pharmacology is a research and education focused group with a mission to conduct and support investigator-initiated clinical studies and industry sponsored clinical trials – all with a distinct emphasis on clinical pharmacology, therapeutics, and toxicology. 

Critical Care

 

The University of Utah Department of Pediatrics Division of Critical Care includes over 100 faculty and staff who regularly design and conduct research.

 

 

 

Diabetes and Endocrinology

The Division of Endocrinology provides research opportunities for diabetes and endocrinology. This includes research for type 1 & type 2 Diabetes, Thyroid, Adrenal, Growth, Pubertal, and Bone Metabolism Disorders in children and adolescents.

Emergency Medicine

Investigators in the Division of Emergency Medicine promote research in a broad range of topics, including observational and interventional trials.

 

 

Gastroenterology

 

The Division of Gastroenterology is dedicated to research that develops more accurate methods for early diagnosis and curative treatments.

 

General Pediatrics

 

The Division of General Pediatrics is part of a growing research program focused on improving health services for vulnerable populations.

 

 

Hematology and Oncology

The Division of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology offers numerous trials that include patients who are in the upper 20’s and older.

Hospital Medicine

 

The division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine is a team of more than 40 physicians, 3+ fellows, and 10+ staff with diverse clinical, research and academic interests.

Infectious Disease

 

Members of the Division of Infectious Disease are engaged in a wide range of research studies, focusing on different pediatric infectious disease protocols. 

Medical Genetics

 

The Division of Medical Genetics enhances understanding of genetic disorders but also improves diagnosis, treatment options, and overall patient care in pediatrics.

Neonatology

The Division of Neonatology believe that a part of their mission is to advance the care of present and future infants by engaging in rigorous research. We take a collaborative team approach that integrates basic and clinical research.

 

Nephrology

The division of Nephrology is actively conducting research in congenital and inherited kidney disorders, and are working in conjunction with the Pediatric Clinical Pharmacology Program to find new treatments of pediatric and adolescent kidney disease and hypertension.

Neurology

The Division of Neurology is engaged in ongoing basic and clinical research projects.

 

 

 

 

Rheumatology

The Division of Rheumatology is committed to collaborative research are in invested in the mission of CARRA (Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance).
