Must be a U.S. Citizen. We encourage participation from all individuals, including individuals from groups shown to be underrepresented in health-related sciences, and those defined by National Institutes of Health. Especially individuals who represent and can identify as Native American, Alaska Native, or Native American descendants and can demonstrate a strong interest in contributing to Native Communities.
Be enrolled in a four-year college for Fall 2025, with a graduation date of December 2025 or later.
Have completed their sophomore year before attending the NARI program. Sophomore students are encouraged to apply.
No previous research is required, but applicants must demonstrate a strong interest in STEM, bioinformatics, medicine, dental, healthcare, or allied health fields as well as medicine research.
Have a strong interest in pursuing graduate school (PhD or MD/PhD).
Must be available to work 40 hours per week Monday through Friday for a 10-week period, beginning May 27 and ending August 1, 2025.
Past NARI students can be considered for a second summer track if they still meet all criteria mentioned above.
