Hobbies/interests outside of work: Spending time outdoors, yoga, and cooking
Why Utah Pediatric gastroenterology? Besides it being a great program overall with a wide variety of pathology due to its large catchment area, I chose Utah because of its awesome faculty. Interviewing virtually was challenging and connecting with faculty was important to me. Everyone was easy going and approachable.
What is your favorite part about our program? The close-knit faculty and the great learning environment they create.
What's your favorite part about living in Salt Lake City? The access to the outdoors all year round is amazing.
What cool research/advocacy/education/scholarly work are you participating in? Prior to starting my fellowship, I worked with faculty on submitting a research grant. I was awarded the CFF (Cystic Fibrosis Foundation) grant for my research project on “Cystic Fibrosis-Related Liver Disease in Utah Children” that I will be conducting throughout my fellowship.
What has been a standout rotation or teaching experience you've been part of as a fellow? N/A
What is something you didn't know before coming to Utah that you wish you did? The time it would take for me to adjust to the elevation coming from sea level.
What are your plans following fellowship? I am considering doing an extra year in Hepatology.
What made you decide to come to Utah? It’s a well-rounded program in a place that offers a great quality of life.
What are you doing next year? Plan to earn my MSCI (Master of Science in Clinical Investigation) degree while continuing to work on research and expanding my clinical skills.
