  • About Me

    Why Utah Pediatric Gastroenterology?

Everyone I met during the interview was fun, had energy, and was easy going. That along with our large catchment area and plenty of opportunities to scope have made this a great training experience.

What made you decide to come to Utah?

Great people in the department, plenty of patient volume to see the full gambit of disease and feel prepared, and a fun culture with a lot to do within Salt Lake City and the surrounding area.

What is your favorite part about our program?

Definitely the people I work with, from every facet of the University and Primary Children's. It is an energetic and supportive group that is invested in preparing us for independent practice.

What is your favorite part about living in Salt Lake City?

Even for someone who doesn't ski or snowboard, there is a lot to do here--more than you can do in three years of fellowship. Yet, it doesn't feel overcrowded in any way.

What cool research/advocacy/education/scholarly work are you participating in?

Fighting blood clots in IBD patients for my QI project and working on a clinical follow-up tool for severe constipation. I've also been able to co-author a case study for acute hepatitis and will present a poster at NASPGHAN for a pancreatic mass.

What is something you didn't know before coming to Utah that you wish you did?

I don't think I would wish to know it beforehand, but I was surprised at how many people have tattoos and the number of tattoo shops!
