About Me
Residency: University of Illinois College of Medicine, Peoria, IL
Dr. Cohen grew up in Michigan but considers herself a Western transplant. After completing her education and training in Texas, Indiana, and Illinois, she is glad to be within driving distance of her family for once! She is thrilled to have the opportunity to train with so many wonderful and knowledgeable individuals at the University of Utah. She and her fiancé, Jonathan, have been enjoying the many outdoor activities available in the summer and look forward to taking advantage of the legendary Utah powder.
Dr. Cohen’s research interest is in lung development, with an emphasis on the pathogenesis of bronchopulmonary dysplasia. She is working with her mentor, Dr. Lisa Joss-Moore, using a rat model to investigate the roles of intrauterine growth restriction, postnatal growth restriction, and DHA supplementation on lung fatty acid metabolism and the development of BPD.
