Directors
I’ve always felt passionate about working with children and families. After college, I taught 6th grade science in a middle school in the Bronx, New York. It was a challenging but rewarding experience that taught me a lot about teaching and working with children growing up in underprivileged communities. When I started my pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital Colorado, I had considered going into adolescent medicine. After residency, I worked in the ED and urgent care for two years and fell in love with the variety, acuity, and unpredictability of emergency medicine. In addition, many adolescents use the ED as their primary source of health care, which means I could still make a meaningful impact in their lives as a PEM physician.

Why Utah?
When I interviewed at Primary Children’s Hospital, I was immediately drawn to how happy and supportive everyone is here. I was impressed by the extremely organized and streamlined trauma protocol where the ED fellow has the opportunity to truly lead trauma resuscitations. PCH also has a huge catchment area with five surrounding states, which means fellows are exposed to a diverse patient population with high acuity and complexity. Additionally, Utah is an adventurer’s paradise and I’m excited to move even closer to the mountains!
