ASPIRE
Autism Services: Personalized, Integrated, Research-Informed & Empowering
The ASPIRE model (Autism Services: Personalized, Integrated, Research-Informed & Empowering) is a regional hub-and-spoke system designed to improve early autism identification, diagnosis, and ongoing care. It addresses gaps in screening, referral, and intervention access by connecting a central hub—the Child Development Program—with local spokes such as primary care practices, Early Intervention programs, and community providers. ASPIRE focuses on universal early screening, building local capacity for secondary assessments, streamlining referral pathways, and reducing diagnostic wait times. It also integrates family advocates, provides training and technical assistance, and supports medical homes in delivering longitudinal autism care. Ultimately, ASPIRE aims to reduce disparities, enhance care coordination, and create a sustainable, scalable model for equitable autism services across communities.
